We’ve been following this one very closely since the first rumors began trickling out, and now we finally have some official answers on what exactly T-Mobile’s new HSPA+ (their very, very fast 3G network with 4G like speeds) phone is. As was suspected recently, the G2 is very much a high spec’d phone that should be a very good choice for any T-Mobile user looking for a new high-end smartphone. Just check out the specs:

3.7-inch multi-touch screen with full slide out QWERTY keyboard– just like the G1.

WiFi, GPS, and that HSPA+ 3G

800 MHz Snapdragon processor– While not as powerful as other high-end smartphones rocking 1 GHZ processors (like the Droid 2, EVO 4G, and Samsung’s Galaxy S phones like T-Mobile’s Vibrant), this drop off isn’t too bad as T-Mobile is saying this should still offer very solid speed (and more than enough for texting, playing music, watching YouTube and browsing the web) while also offering very good battery life (as it doesn’t have to use as much power to power the phone).

Android 2.2 with Swype (as an onscreen keyboard) and built-in Adobe Flash– One of the big differences here is that it doesn’t seem to have a custom skin like an HTC Sense, MOTOBLUR, or TouchWiz 3.0, instead going with the standard Android 2.2 interface which looks very nice and simple to use (and should offer more speed as it doesn’t have to run that special interface in the background). The G2 also has a Quick Keys app on the homescreen for one-touch access to your favorite Google shortcuts and applications, something we haven’t yet seen on other Android 2.2 phones.

5-megapixel camera with LED flash, autofocus and HD 720p video recording– Like the Vibrant and iPhone 4.

4 GB of built-in memory with a pre-installed 8 GB microSD memory card– With support for adding up to a 32 GB memory card.

When you’re looking for a new top of the line T-Mobile phone, this should definitely give the Vibrant a run for its money. Sure the screen is a drop smaller (the Vibrant’s is an even 4 inches) and it the processor is a tad slower, but the keyboard on the G2 does look really great to use and of course who can forget about the ability to rake in 4G-like speeds? Is this better than the Vibrant though? That’s a really tough call as again, both on paper have some slight differences which, depending on your particular preferences, could go either way.

We still don’t have an exact date for when this bad boy drops or how much it will cost (Best Buy has already announced they will sell it for $199 on October 6th, but T-Mobile still hasn’t announced their pricing and availability just yet), but if your already on T-Mobile and looking to pick one of these up for your next phone, you can sign up today to be notified when the pre-order goes live later this month. And if you’re not on T-Mobile, well, stay tuned.

Excited about what T-Mobile’s next big phone is, you know, the G2 that is being so heavily teased? If you are then listen up, as a lot on this seemingly awesome upcoming phone has come out today, and as we said in the title, things are looking really good.

First off, design. As you can see in the top pic, this is a very worthy successor to the G1. Not only does it pack a slide out full QWERTY keyboard in a clearly much thinner design, it will also have according to the site Cell Phone Signal (who picked up a whole bunch of specs on the phone) a 3.7 inch Active Matrix OLED screen– in other words, a really sharp screen. Other specs Cell Phone Signal have gotten their hands on include a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus (which would be similar to the iPhone 4 and Samsung’s Galaxy S phones), a 1 GHZ Snapdragon processor (the same as all the other top smartphones are running, like the HTC EVO 4G, HTC Droid Incredible, and Motorola’s Droid 2 and Droid X– this should keep everything running smoothly), WiFi, GPS and the ability to turn the phone into a mobile hotspot (again, like those other top Android phones. And who wouldn’t want to share these crazy fast 3G speeds with their other WiFi devices?). All this atop what appears to be latest and great version of Android, Android 2.2 (also known as “Froyo”).

T-Mobile still has yet to confirm any of this, so for now we gotta consider all of this to be just rumors (though the photos have been spied on T-Mobile’s servers, so they seem to be legit), but let’s all hope they make this all official and get it out in the world real soon. We’ll make sure to keep you in the loop as soon as we learn more.

A few weeks ago T-Mobile launched a new teaser page touting an upcoming launch of their all new HSPA+ phone, or a phone that has access to T-Mobile’s latest and fastest 3G network with 4G-like speeds (up to a whopping 14.4 Mbps, or faster than many of us even get in our homes!). Today, T-Mobile dropped some more clues on what this mysterious but already awesome phone might be– and while we still don’t know what exactly it is, when it’s coming, or how much it will cost– we do now know the name. Everyone, say hello to the T-Mobile G2.

That’s pretty much all T-Mobile wants to share today (though now we do know that it will be an Android running phone with close Google ties– maybe even being the phone to launch the next version of Android, version 3.0 aka Gingerbread? While that is purely my own guess at this point, I could see that happening considering T-Mobile’s mention of the G1 and how it was the first Android phone. To me it’s only fitting that Google’s next big leap be the next generation of the G1, and 3.0– which is said to be coming before the end of the year– has all the promises of being that next big thing in Android). In meantime, we’re all gonna have to sit tight and wait it out for the next few weeks until T-Mobile decides to share some more. You can also sign-up today at T-Mobile’s “teaser” page to get emailed once more details become available.

Moving on in T-Mobile Android news, Motorola and T-Mobile today finally announced pricing and release for the upcoming Motorola Charm (Android with a BlackBerry-like design as you can see in the pic above). This is very good news for anyone looking for a cheap but solid smartphone and doesn’t need/want all the bells and whistles of phones like the myTouch 3G Slide and Vibrant. The Charm will be launching just in time for school– next Wednesday August 25th– for a very solid $74.99 with new 2 year contract and data plan. For a full recap of what the Charm is, see our previous post here.

Not a bad day to be a T-Mobile user indeed. So, anyone else wanna throw in their guess what the mysterious G2 is?

T-Mobile users this one is for you. Today, T-Mobile put up a teaser page for people to sign up to be notified about the launch of their next big phone due later this year, a phone that is capable of connecting to T-Mobile’s really fast 3G network (called HSPA+, and is capable of delivering 4G speeds similar to that of today’s 4G networks such as Sprint’s). And T-Mobile’s official Twitter (@TMobile_USA) has thrown out a tweet last week saying that this phone is coming later this summer– so what’s going on?

This of course is huge just on the network side, as with more powerful networks come much more powerful phones– and T-Mobile has already begun upgrading their current 3G network to HSPA+, with areas all across the US– from LA to New York– already getting some of the fun, with the plan being to cover over 185 million people with this HSPA+ goodness by the end of the year. But what exactly is this phone that T-Mobile is hyping? While T-Mobile obviously hasn’t said anything yet, here are a couple of guesses on what it possibly could be.

1. T-Mobile Blaze (aka HTC Vision)

After almost two years, T-Mobile finally killed off the T-Mobile G1 today. This was one of the biggest cell phone launches in recent years (and particularly big for T-Mobile), as it was the first phone to run Google’s Android OS. Now it would make sense to give a great phone like that an encore and this phone would definitely do that. With Android, a 1 GHZ processor, 3.7 inch screen, sleek design, and full slide out QWERTY keyboard it looks to be the perfect replacement for the G1. And if you look at the pic at the top, it does have some resemblance to T-Mobile’s mysterious phone. (Pic via Engadget)

2. iPhone 4

I’ve always thought that T-Mobile would get the iPhone before Verizon, as AT&T and T-Mobile share the same GSM tech for their networks (HSPA+ is a 3G network based on that GSM tech), and the rumors for T-Mobile to get the iPhone soon are getting much, much stronger over the past couple of weeks (some people even saying that we may see a T-Mobile iPhone before the holidays). That being said, we’re still talking about an iPhone rumor and while I doubt it’d be too hard for Apple to squeeze in the proper 3G band for T-Mobile’s network (the iPhone 4 already supports pretty much every other flavor of 3G network out there, be it in the US and Canada, Europe, China, Japan etc.), it still is just a rumor so take it as you will.

Plus, the pic on T-Mobile’s site shows a little bump in the lower left, add that to the fact that Apple currently lists the iPhone as a HSUPA device (meaning fast 3G but not as fast as HSPA+) seems to point to a not iPhone 4 device. Though who knows– it really can’t get much bigger for T-Mobile than to kick off it’s faster network with an iPhone…

Those are my guesses, and we’ll of course make sure to keep you completely up to date as we learn more about this mysterious phone. In the meantime, what do you think T-Mobile will use as the first phone on their HSPA+ network? You think it will be the Blaze and if so and what we know so far is accurate, you like what you see? What type of phone would you like to see T-Mobile launch as their first HSPA+ device? Let us know in the comments.

Today, like all days in the world of tech, was very busy, with 2 new phones coming out soon for both AT&T (a cheap model and an amazing camera phone) and T-Mobile (an updated touchscreen and a great texting phone). So what what kind of phones are we talking about here and are they worth checking out? All the answers are a More link away.

Ok, here we go– let’s start with AT&T.

Sony Ericsson W518a

This is the more basic of the 2 AT&T phones– and that, for some, is definitely not a bad thing. At a solid price of $49.99 (with a 2 year contract and $50 mail in rebate), it packs:

AT&T 3G

Thin design–Should be very easy to fit into your pocket.

3.2 megapixel camera– Solid for taking pix, and actually useful for things like….

Gesture Control– No, this isn’t like the iPhone with a touchscreen with multi-touch gestures, rather it allows you to, say, reject an incoming call or snooze an alarm, with a wave of your hand over the camera lens. I don’t care what you say here, but this is just sick and insanely cool.

Shake Control– Kinda like Shake to Shuffle on the iPod Nano and iPhone/iPod Touch, letting you skip or shuffle songs by just shaking the phones. You also can control volume with this, something the iPod’s can’t do. This is another very cool feature.

Facebook integration– This is great for everyone out there addicted to Facebook (probably most of us). Just flip open the phone and you should be set to receive updates from your Facebook (my guess is that you’ll need an unlimited data plan for this– which costs about $15 per month extra, though you can view other internet sites, like say TeenTechBlog, from your phone as well), and if you click on the phone’s standby screen let’s you update your status. You also can upload pix from the phone’s camera straight to Facebook.

The phone will be available on Sunday, July 19th (2 days from now).

Sony Ericsson C905a

This phone is awesome– AT&T’s first 8 megapixel camera phone that actually looks like it will not just be a solid phone, but also be a good camera as well. Specs on this include:

AT&T 3G

Thin, slider design with a 2.4 glass scratch resistant display– Like the W518a, it should also fit well in your pocket, and the scratch resistant display is always good.

8.1 megapixel CyberShot camera with flash, auto focus and video recording– Pretty much everything you’d look for in a standard camera. It also even has red eye reduction, face detection, a “Smart Contrast” feature that automatically adjusts the contrast if the pic is too light or too dark, and “BestPic” which basically captures 7 pix in succession. All in all, the goods to make a solid camera.

AT&T Video Share

Memory Stick Micro slot (or M2)– Sony’s version of the microSD memory card found on most phones– you can add up to 16 GB of additional storage which we’d recommend looking into if you plan on storing a lot of pix, music and video on the phone.

GPS with AT&T Navigator

FM Radio

Clearly another solid AT&T phone coming soon, also launching on July 19th for $179.99, with a $50 mail in rebate and a 2 year contract. My thoughts? Well, seeing as this was rumored to be coming in the summer of LAST YEAR (with rumors late last year saying it was scrapped entirely by AT&T), it is nice and a solid looking phone but I hoped it would have been launched at a price cheaper than $179.99 (like $129.99 or $100 would make more sense to me, considering its lateness).

Ok, now to T-Mobile– and if your a big texter your gonna really like these 2.

Samsung Highlight

Ok, so both these phones are Samsung– and are both very cool. The first one we got for you is the Samsung Highlight and it is like a newer version of the Samsung Behold that launched late last year. Like the Behold its all touchscreen, and updates many features on the Behold.

T-Mobile 3G

Thin, all touchscreen display– Like the Behold, this should fit well in any pocket and provide a solid touchscreen experience.

3 megapixel camera with video recording– This is actually a little less powerful then the Behold’s 5 megapixel

Full HTML Browser– This let’s you view the “real” internet on your phone like you would on your computer or on phones like the Pre, G1 and iPhone.

GPS

myFaves support

Samsung’s TouchWiz UI– Like on the Behold and Samsung Memoir

All in all, a solid phone that should make a lot of T-Mobile users happy. It’s out now for $149.99 with a 2 year contract and $50 mail in rebate when you get a unlimited messaging and web (or just unlimited web) plan.

My take? Definitely a nice phone, but for about $200 (assuming you don’t go for the web or data plan which looks to add at least $30 per month from what I could find), I would either go with the Behold ($129.99) or Memoir ($199.99) or go with something like the G1 (which is also $149) or myTouch 3G when it comes out in Auguast for $199.99 if your looking for something with internet.

The Highlight is out now and available in either “fire and ice” (black and orange basically) or the black and blue combo you see in the pic above. You can check it out at T-Mobile’s site here for the black/blue combo and here for the “fire and ice” version.

The Samsung Comeback– when opened

Samsung Comeback

Last on this list is the Samsung Comeback, also destined for T-Mobile and is sure to be a crowd pleaser for those who were looking for a LG enV3 like phone for T-Mobile. It basically looks a lot like the Verizon’s enV3, when you flip open the phone horizontally, it will give you a real full QWERTY keyboard (not e-ink, or “magic” keypad, just traditional keys), which should be great for texting– with the front of the phone giving you a traditional phone layout like the front of the enV. Full specs:

T-Mobile 3G

Thin design, with full QWERTY keyboard– Like all the phones on this list, it should be easy to take around.

Dual screen flip phone– Pretty much like we said above– T-Mobile’s version of the enV3.

2 megapixel camera with video recording

myFaves support

microSD card slot– With room for up to 16 GB of storage.

All in all, if it hits T-Mobile soon and at a low price like $50, I think T-Mobile could have a real hit.

So what you think– you like anything here? If no, what phone are you looking to get if your on AT&T or T-Mobile? Let us know in the comments.

A leaked pic of the upcoming BlackBerry Storm 2 (pic from Engadget Mobile)

Yeah, we all know the first BlackBerry Storm was no where near the quality of other phones like the iPhone, G1 or Pre. But don’t worry Verizon users, as we mentioned briefly in our upcoming Verizon phones post, a newer (and hopefully much better) version of the Storm is coming, and it actually is looking really good.

Ok, so what exactly is in this new Verizon version? Boy Genius Report has got a scoop from some of their insiders that not only will the Storm 2 keep some of the good’ol features of the Storm– like Verizon 3G, the 3.2 megapixel camera, and the ability to use 3G GSM networks in Europe– but will also be adding WiFi (it’s about time), BlackBerry OS 5.0, AND a new touchscreen interface (better than the horrific SurePress on the first Storm, and supposedly being a regular touchscreen like the Pre, G1 and iPhone’s, but we don’t know exactly what’s going on there). This version is said to be coming later this year for Verizon.

Now you may be wondering, so what’s this talk of AT&T getting a Storm? Well, that according to BGR is also coming soon in the form of an AT&T Storm 2. Not much is currently known of AT&T’s new Storm 2 (though we’d assume it’s got similar features to Verizon’s, just with things like AT&T 3G instead of Verizon 3G), but BGR has confirmed with their sources that a model does exist, and hopefully will be coming soon. Keep those fingers crossed, and we’ll of course keep you updated as soon as we hear anything new.

A lil while ago we wrote about 5 phones that were coming soon to AT&T.

A lil while ago we wrote about 5 phones that were coming soon to AT&T. Yesterday, Engadget.com got word on a whole bunch of other phones coming to AT&T later this year, and while you can see all the scoops at their Engadget Mobile site here, we’re gonna focus on 3 really big, awesome ones we think will particularly interest you.

HTC’s Lancaster for AT&T with Google’s Android OS

1. HTC Lancaster

At first glance it seems like a solid HTC Touch Pro2 (not to worry, there’s one of those too if you check out the Engadget page) with touchscreen/full keyboard, 3G, GPS, 3 megapixel camera, etc.–all very nice. But get this: it runs Google’s Android OS instead of Windows Mobile that’s found on the Touch Pro2, making AT&T the 1st US carrier outside T-Mobile (the G1 soon HTC Magic) with a phone using this very cool OS. This exciting combination of AT&T features, real good looks (seriously which would you take based on looks– the G1 or this?) and Android makes this my preferred choice over T-Mobile’s G1, hands down.

Release is said to be August 3rd, though that part is not really set in stone, so we’ll keep you updated.

The Palm Eos

2. Palm Eos

Another nice phone which also, like Lancaster, attempts to add a new OS to AT&T’s lineup, this time Palm’s webOS. While webOS is not fully confirmed–the OS for the Eos has only been referred to as “new Palm OS experience” — we really got to believe it is webOS as Palm said that there will be many devices using it (it’s already on the Palm Pre coming to Sprint as you know). This appears to be an updated version of the very popular Palm Centro, making it even more probable that webOS would be on the device. Features wise the Eos also has AT&T 3G, 4GB built in memory, 2 megapixel camera, GPS, and the touchscreen/full keyboard design you find on the Centro. Did we mention how thin it is- how can we forget!? Unlike the Centro, which was small but a little bit chubby, the Eos is said to 10.6 mm, or paper like thin!

Sadly, we don’t when exactly this will drop, though it is said to be coming second half of the year (July 1st through December 31st). Let’s all hope it comes in the sooner part of that time frame rather than the latter.

A rumored shot of the BlackBerry Magnum, aka the BlackBerry 9900 (Pic from CrackBerry.com). Note: this pic was not in Engadget’s AT&T scoop; just the rumored pic of the Magnum that’s been floating around the web.

3. New BlackBerry’s

Also on the list is a whole slew of new BlackBerry’s, most notably a Curve-like device with 3G (codenamed Onyx), a new BlackBerry Pearl with 3G (not the flip Pearl- the candy bar-shaped Pearl 1), and this, the update to the BlackBerry Bold, called the BlackBerry Magnum. The BlackBerry Magnum is probably the BlackBerry everyone, and we mean EVERYONE, has been waiting for: a BlackBerry with its distinctive, awesome keyboard AND a touchscreen.

And don’t forget about a sick HVGA screen (480×360 resolution– really clear screen), AT&T 3G,WiFi, and GPS. Pretty cool no? Sadly, Engadget doesn’t have other details like the camera resolution or release date, but let’s pray here as well that AT&T is kind enough to release this REALLY soon (I’d be happy with tomorrow).

Other phones mentioned in this massive leak (honestly, does AT&T really have any other phones left after this?) are the HTC Touch Pro2, which really resembles T-Mobile’s version, the HTC Touch Diamond2, which is like the Touch Pro2 except thinner, with a smaller screen, and no slide out keyboard (info on these phones here), a bunch of Nokia’s, a new HP phone, and a whole lot more. Again, for all the details on everything they found (trust me, there is a lot more than this), check out their Engadget Mobile site.

Like what you see? Is this, coupled with the rumor of a new iPhone or 2 for AT&T this year, going to convince you to re-up if your AT&T contract is set to expire later this year?

Ok, so like with the Verizon post, not all of these phones are guaranteed, but a lot are rumored to becoming real soon and the rumors around the web are pretty strong.

1. T-Mobile Sidekick LX (aka T-Mobile Sidekick LX 2009)

We wrote about this a little while ago, and T-Mobile the other day actually confirmed this to be coming on May 13th, so any hardcore texters should really wanna pay attention here– this is probably the greatest Sidekick ever. Check it:

Thinnest Sidekick Ever– so says T-Mobile, whose word is pretty credible considering they are the sole sellers of Sidekicks (rhyming not intended)

3.2-inch F-WVGA screen with high-definition screen– This has an 854 x480 resolution, which in simple English terms, means not only the greatest screen on a Sidekick EVER, but one of the greatest screens on any phone out there today, on any carrier! This will make everything– the web, texts, your Facebook/MySpace/Twitter page, pix and videos — insanely clear and easy to use.

Flip out screen and QWERTY keyboard– The standard Sidekick design pretty much.

T-Mobile 3G– Like I said in the other post… FINALLY!

3.2 Megapixel Camera with Auto Focus, Flash and Video Capture– A nice camera for a phone, should be more than fine for your basic camera taking needs.

GPS with Windows Live Search– So you can map out where you wanna go. It also has real time traffic which is a nice touch

Built in Facebook, MySpace and Twitter apps– Great for keeping you connected with your social network. You also can view YouTube videos with the web browser or on MySpace.

Mp3 Player with microSD card slot– T-Mobile actually throws in a 1 GB card in the box. Very kind of them

Available in “carbon” or “orchid”– Basically either a black or reddish brown.

The Sidekick LX (interesting that they gave it the same name as an earlier version of the Sidekick) will be available for T-Mobile for $199.99 after rebate on a 2 year contract on May 13th.

T-Mobile Touch Pro2 (notice the nice little arrow ) Click on the pic for a bigger shot.

2. HTC Touch Pro2 (aka T-Mobile Wing 2)

Now this is an awesome phone. You thought the Sidekick LX was nice, wait till you hear bout this. This is the next version of the Touch Pro currently found on AT&T (known as the HTC Fuze), Sprint and Verizon, and it is way better.

3.6 inch High Res screen with slide out QWERTY keyboard– a great touch screen which, if it’s anything like the Touch Pro’s– and we assume this one’s much better– means you’re in for a great device. And like the older AT&T Tilt, the touchscreen tilts up- very cool.

T-Mobile 3G

WiFi

GPS

Windows Mobile 6.1, with the ability to upgrade to the new Windows Mobile 6.5 later on– Good OS, and you can add apps and customize it pretty well. Windows Mobile 6.5 adds an official App Store (called Windows Marketplace for Mobile), a new homescreen and an improved mobile Internet Explorer web browser among other things. Windows Mobile 6.5 should be out later this year, and we’ll cover it more when that time nears. HTC also puts YouTube, Opera, and Facebook apps included on the phone, and they even throw in a cool, fun game called Teeter which uses the phones’ accelerometer (reorients the screen according to holding position-think iPhone) and you use it to move a ball into a hole. It’s better than that just sounded– trust me.

3.2 Megapixel camera with flash and auto focus

The rumors on this phone say that it’ll drop around July 22nd, which is not that bad considering it took much longer for the the older Touch Pro to come to the US (think like September or even later for the original Touch Pro to come to a carrier).

HTC Snap

3. HTC Snap (aka T-Mobile Dash 2)

The rumored T-Mobile G2 (and yes this is the same pic we used in the previous post)

This is the rumored successor to the popular Windows Mobile Standard (not touchscreen), QWERTY keyboard T-Mobile Dash. Keeping the same style and slim design, it packs a full QWERTY keyboard, GPS, 2 megapixel camera, Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard and WiFi, with the addition of T-Mobile 3G (a much-needed necessity). Not much else on this other than we expect to come for a pretty low price and that it is rumored to launch on July 1st.

4. HTC Magic (aka T-Mobile G2)

Wow a lot of T-Mobile’s phones are rumored to come from HTC! Now this phone is a little more mysterious. As we mentioned before, this is the next Android handset rumored to arrive to T-Mobile. Unlike the first T-Mobile Android phone, the T-Mobile G1 (out now for T-Mobile, you can find out more here), this phone is all touchscreen, kinda like the iPhone and Blackberry Storm for AT&T and Verizon respectively. We don’t know much else on this phone, other than it’s got 3G, runs Android and is all touchscreen. But if it’s like the upcoming European version, it will also have WiFi, a 3.2 or 5 megapixel camera, and a GPS. However, rumors on this phone are pretty strong that this should be coming soon to T-Mobile, and we’ll obviously keep you updated with anything more we find out.

5. Ok, so we know this doesn’t actually count as a phone, but a lot of Samsung phones are rumored to be coming soon to T-Mobile, but we don’t enough on any of them to report them here. We’ll let you know when we do.

Any of these phones catch your interest? Perhaps a new Sidekick LX or maybe a sweet lil HTC Touch Pro2? Say what you think in the comments.

So that new rumored G2 we mentioned a couple weeks back wasn’t good enough for you T-Mobile users, not exactly what you were looking for. Don’t worry, that’s ok, and just for you we got so really cool new info on what could be 2 AMAZING phones for T-Mobile in 2009.

Ok, so one of the phones we got here is expected to come out very, very soon- a near guarantee to come to T-Mobile. The other right now is just a really cool rumor that we hope will come true soon.

Let’s start with the “guarantee”- and boy is this phone sick. The phone is called the Samsung Memoir, and it really is loaded. Just check out the features:

8 Megapixel Camera- Yes, this thing has an 8 MEGAPIXEL CAMERA (like the one you find on most regular digital cameras).

16x Digital Zoom, Auto Focus and Flash for camera- Yup, this thing really looks to be a do it all camera and phone, and do both really well.

All touchscreen design- Think of this as a similar design to the already launched Samsung Behold, just with that awesome 8 megapixel camera, and no weird earpiece at the top of the phone.

T-Mobile 3G- Pretty much a must at this point.

GPS

Full Web Browser- So you can view the “real internet” on this insane camera/phone

Unfortunately we don’t know much more in terms of price, exact release- and even all the exact features. What we do know is this should be coming to T-Mobile really soon, possibly (hopefully ) by February 25.

Samsung Memoir

Now let’s turn our focus to the more heavily rumored phone, and you may really wanna listen up for this one. This phone is an update to the T-Mobile Sidekick LX, a phone very cleverly named T-Mobile Sidekick LX 2009. Like the Memoir this phone is loaded with new features, beyond the awesome, popular Sidekick design and keyboard.

Thin design, with large, high resolution 3.2 inch screen- This is definitely cool. Not only does this Sidekick look significantly thinner then previous Sidekicks (and we mean MUCH thinner), but it is loaded with a HUGE screen (a drop smaller than the iPhone) but with a resolution of 854 x 480. Now what in the world does that resolution mean to you? Well, let’s just say this should be one of the clearest and best screens you’ll see this year (by comparison, it’s got a better resolution than the iPhone, meaning everything on the phone — from pix and videos, to using the Web, to viewing text messages — will be awesome!).

Built-in MySpace, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube apps- Pretty much everything you’d need to be always connected to whatever social network you want.

T-Mobile 3G- Finally! A Sidekick with 3G!

3.2 Megapixel camera with Flash and Video recording- All you’d need to upload some decent pix to your social network site

GPS with Turn by Turn directions- This thing will tell exactly how to get to wherever you want to go!

Micro-SD card slot with room for up to 8 GB- Honestly, we’d love to see some built in memory for storing things like pix and videos, or at least a higher amount to add through Micro-SD, but at least you got a solid option if you want to ditch your iPod and make this your everything device.

Full Keyboard- Wouldn’t be a Sidekick without it.

So not bad, T-Mobile, not bad at all. Unfortunately, this isn’t confirmed by T-Mobile, and actually this info came from a survey T-Mobile was running- so we can’t tell you if this is even something real, let alone a price or release (though it definitely looks real from the pix and the info – let’s hope it is).

Sidekick LX 2009

So what you think: any of these devices you see getting yourself in the future? Rather wait and go for a device like the G2, or soon-to-be-released Blackberry Curve 8900 instead? Want to just pick up a phone T-Mobile is actually selling now like the G1, Samsung Behold or Sidekick LX or regular Sidekick? Something different entirely? Let us know in the comments!

T-Mobile G2???

Well pix are out now on the internet of T-Mobile’s next possible version of Google’s Android powered T-Mobile G1 (to learn about the original G1, see our previous posts here). The pix show a whole new design with no annoying “chin” for the trackball, and instead has the trackball built straight on the device (Finally! That “chin” must be really annoying to use for texting).

There also appears to be different forms of buttons underneath the screen, a 3.2 megapixel camera, and what is arguably the biggest design change– no physical keyboard. Yup, the G2 looks to drop one of it’s biggest feature in order to get a thinner design. Oh, and as of right now that would be a pretty big problem as Android doesn’t have a virtual keyboard like the iPhone. Don’t worry though possible G2 owners, we fully expect Android to have an official virtual keyboard well before this thing comes to it’s rumored launch in May

I personally don’t find the new G2 design to be so great, as the smaller buttons and new design just look plain ugly to me (at least from this shot), especially when compared to phones like the iPhone, Blackberry Storm and Bold, and I even think it looks worse then the original G1 (which I didn’t think was so bad to begin with, minus the whole “chin”). Though, a bunch of awesome features would make that feeling go away pretty quickly (you know, an awesome, possibly even multi-touch touchscreen, a normal 3.5 mm headphone jack instead of the current “do all USB port” on the G1 would be some good starts).

Again all this is just a rumored device, as neither T-Mobile, HTC (the makers of the phone as well as the G1), or Google have said anything. But hey, assuming this is the G2, what features would you like to see in this phone? Do you like the new design, even if it means losing the keyboard? G1 owners, you like/dislike your G1, and would you reccomend the G1, or that people wait for the G2 to come out? Sound off in the comments.

Info and pix from Engadget.com
